COURSE DESCRIPTION
The CPC33020 – Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying reflects the trade qualified role of a bricklayer, blocklayer or paver who may have responsibility for undertaking heritage bricklaying, refractory bricklaying, bricklaying, blocklaying and paving work in residential, industrial and commercial contexts, in both existing and new constructions. Occupational titles could include:
- Bricklayer
- Blocklayer
- Paver
This is a practical course that covers all the essential skills and knowledge you’ll need as a bricklayer or blocklayer, paver including laying bricks and blocks, levelling, general demolition, veneer construction, structural masonry, arch design and construction and fireplace construction.
It’s suited to those who enjoy working outdoors, have good hand-eye coordination and can work neatly and accurately.
You’ll gain essential skills and knowledge in:- levelling

- fireplace construction.
You’ll learn how to safely use and maintain of a wide range of tools and equipment used for bricklaying and construction, including:

Successful completion of this course means you can progress in your career by enrolling in the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) followed by the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).
Course Delivery and Duration
This course is delivered in a structured classroom environment which includes the ACFE purpose built workshop and computer laboratory.
The program will be delivered over 94 weeks The simulation training is for review of the learning activities, practicing communication, work based skills, management skills and to undertake other assessments e.g. project(s), presentation etc.
You will find the hands-on practical simulation training interesting and beneficial, so that you are able to perform tasks efficiently and effectively in an actual workplace which will build your confidence and competence.

Entry Requirements
- 18 years or older upon application
- All applicants are required to have successfully completed an LLN test and demonstrate competence for all indicators to enrol for this qualification
For international students, ACFE accepts following proof of a level of English proficiency:
- IELTS Overall 5.5 band (no band below 5.0)
- TOEFL iBT (Internet-based) 69-79 with no band less than 14
- TOEFL Paper 523 (with a min. TWE 3.5)
- TOEFL CBT (Combuted-based) 193 (with a min.TWE 3.5)
- PTE Academic 46 with no communicative skill score less than 40
Note: Some assessment tasks are completed using a computer and internet, and it is essential for the student to possess basic computer skills.
