COURSE DESCRIPTION
The HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is a nationally recognised qualification and could enable you to find entry-level work as an assistant in nursing or nursing support worker.
As a nursing assistant you’ll provide assistance to clients according to their care plan and under the supervision of a health professional. You’ll learn how to perform patient observations, how to work effectively with culturally diverse clients and how to use medical terminology. After completing this course you could work in aged care facilities, hospitals, clinics, private medical practices and home and community care services.
You’ll learn to ensure quality of care, safety, infection control, empathy and respect. You’ll also develop practical skills in patient care and movement, transport, bed making, clinical cleaning and food service.
You’ll be ready to provide a range of assistance to professional staff for the care of patients or clients. You’ll have the communication skills and technical and procedural knowledge to work in areas such as:

After successfully completing the Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, students may apply for the:

- HLT47715 Certificate IV in Medial Practice Assisting
- HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing

Course Delivery and Duration
This qualification is delivered to the local and international students over total of 40 weeks each within the stated delivery timeframe. Face to Face delivery with student participation in the demonstration of job role tasks.

- 18 years or older upon application
- All applicants are required to have successfully completed an LLN test and demonstrate competence for all indicators to enrol for this qualification
For international students, ACFE accepts following proof of a level of English proficiency:
- IELTS Overall 5.5 band (no band below 5.0)
- TOEFL iBT (Internet-based) 69-79 with no band less than 14
- TOEFL Paper 523 (with a min. TWE 3.5)
- TOEFL CBT (Combuted-based) 193 (with a min.TWE 3.5)
- PTE Academic 46 with no communicative skill score less than 40
Note: Some assessment tasks are completed using a computer and internet, and it is essential for the student to possess basic computer skills.
